Nestled on the Mid North Coast of NSW, our leadership is guided by the collaborative efforts of a husband and wife team originating from Gumbaynggirr and Bundjalung land.
At the forefront of our team stands Matt Donovan, bringing over 20 years experience
in Indigenous youth care and a notable background in Child Protection. His unique
expertise shapes our approach, focusing on empathy, spiritual connection,
and adaptability as we serve Indigenous children and young people.
Renee overseas the policy team with expertise in law and compliance.
As well as introducing Bundjalung language and practices from her upbringing
and elders of Baryulgil community, upper Clarence Valley Region, NSW.
Able Spirits is an inclusive and flexible team of individuals, each with their own lived experiences, which bring a wealth of individual strengths to our mission of support.
Our team is fully qualified and meet child protection checks and first aid requirements. Ongoing education for our care workers is a priority for us, ensuring our team’s
growth and the best possible care.

We provide access to education, disability care, health assessments,
and offer a range of recreational activities to those children and
young people we serve. Able Spirits Indigenous Service is committed to
